The Quitting Process

It is well known that the quitting process is very long and difficult. Even if you have strongly decided to quit smoking, there are a number of factors that prevent you from bringing this decision into life. You are watching a movie where people smoke and here you are thinking about the taste of a cigarette and you can imagine the sensation of having a cigarette. You stay at work and your friends are calling you to relax and go out for a chit-chat and to have a cigarette. Finally you are stressed out with all those problems with your boss and totally forget about your yesterday commitment to quit.

Quitting is hard, yet it is not impossible. If you feel that you cannot quit smoking by your own efforts then ask for support. The first people that are ready to help and support you are your relatives and friends. You may also join a support group for people like you in your area. There is also nationwide counselling by phone.

There are numerous stop smoking methods like water therapy and nicotine replacement therapy, consult your doctor to choose the best for your body. You can check out nicotine inhalers, patches, nasal sprays, gum and pills. There is quite a long list to choose from. Research these methods in detail and choose the one that fits your lifestyle best.

In different countries government and various civil society organisations also help in fighting this harmful habit. For example, Bureau of Health Promotion in Taiwan offers a money reward for those who are thinking about quitting. The sum of the reward makes it worth it, about 19 k bucks. Of course, the participants need to prove they quit smoking.

Europe and USA governments are not so original. The most common actions they take are the prohibitions and penalties of smoking, primarily in public places.
